This is a follow-up workshop to another event organised in cooperation with the Romanian Microfinance Association, which took place in November 2019 and focused on a study “Benchmarking Microfinance in Romania, 2016-2018”.
The main objective of the workshop on 12 March is to provide an overview of the role of national and regional associations for Romanian microfinance institutions and their impact on the sector’s development. In addition, the workshop will provide lessons learnt of the functions, structure and resources needed by the Romanian microfinance association to plan and implement successful advocacy, capacity building and fund raising activities.
Finally, the workshop will give an update on the planned advocacy campaigns of the two European Microfinance Networks (EMN and MFC), and on the EU funded EaSI Technical Assistance programme and EaSI financial instruments to support the sustainable development of the Romanian microfinance sector.
Other European microfinance providers, either selected as EaSI Technical Assistance beneficiaries or interested in applying for the programme can contact the organising team to request the participation in or organisation of similar events.
