The 3 main winners of #MySocialEurope photo competition were invited to the Young citizens’ dialogue in Sibiu, Romania and awarded an InterRail ticket to discover Europe. Commissioner Marianne Thyssen handed over the prizes at the event.

More than 1200 photos were submitted to the competition. The 3 main winners were invited to attend the Young citizens’ dialogue in Sibiu and won an InterRail ticket to discover Europe and an accommodation voucher to use during their travels. 

The winners and awarded photos were

• Maria Giner Soler (Spain) with "Jaime and Carmen, son and mother"
• Beatriz Pereira (Portugal) with "Love is patient"
• Máté Ladjánszki (Hungary) with "Learn. Anywhere. Anytime."

Besides the main prizes, there were also 12 medium prizes and 30 small prizes for other participations in the contest.

The 15 best photos of the competition were displayed at the conference venue in Sibiu.

Background

The #MySocialEurope photo competition, which ran from 4 February to 4 March, invited young people (18-30) in the EU to reflect on social issues. They were asked to submit photos answering the questions “How should the future of social Europe look like?” and “What does social Europe mean to you?”.
