Two ESF projects among the winners of the RegioStars Awards 2018
A social housing project in Ostrava, Czech Republic and a project on social integration of refugees in Murcia, Spain were rewarded as some of this year's best Cohesion Policy projects.
Integration of refugees: Commission joins forces with social and economic partners
The European Commission and the EU Social and Economic partners ETUC, BusinessEurope, UAPME, CEEP and Eurochambers signed a European Partnership for Integration, laying down key principles and commitments to support and strengthen opportunities for refugees and migrants legally residing in the EU to integrate into the European labour market.
Peer Review on ‘Integration of Refugees into the Labour Market’, Berlin (Germany), 11-12 October 2017
This Peer Review discussed the measures being implemented in some Member States to facilitate early and sustainable labour market integration of refugees. The focus of the Peer Review is crucial for those countries that face high inflows of asylum seekers and that aim to ensure a successful and sustainable integration of these groups into their societies.

Labour market integration is a crucial factor for the overall integration process of refugees. The employment of female refugees allows them to contribute their skills to the economy, whilst also serving as a role model for their children and families. However, compared to their male counterparts, female refugees face additional gender-specific barriers to enter the labour market.
