This network aims to raise awareness on the role of cities in supporting apprenticeships in cooperation with stakeholders at regional and national levels. It will act as an advocacy platform providing cities with information, training, as well as technical and policy assistance. Additionally, the network will play a proactive role in encouraging the development of “green skills” and digital skills in apprenticeships.
European cities and metropolitan areas have a critical role in ensuring the sustainable development of local communities. They have the capacity to build upon local strengths and contribute to the success of apprenticeships, from development to implementation, increasing the scale and ensuring breadth and quality.
The network will start its activities in June 2020 through a series of virtual and live workshops. During these events, members will contribute to shaping the network by presenting their own expectations and ideas. These workshops will become a catalyst for further discussions on the role of cities in developing and implementing apprenticeships.
The first online workshop will take place on Thursday 11 June 2020.
At this stage, the network is only open to cities working on or interested in fostering apprenticeships. If you are interested in joining the network, or would like to refer a city or local authority, please complete the application form.
