The conference in Brussels on 10 October was an opportunity to discuss the most recent developments and the analysis presented in the 2017 review on Employment and Social Developments in Europe (ESDE).
Panels were held on:
- Intergenerational fairness and solidarity today and challenges ahead
- Working lives: the foundation of prosperity for all generations
- Securing good living standards in retirement also in the future
- How can social partners and civil society in general support intergenerational fairness and solidarity
The conference brought together participants from employment and social ministries, social partners, international organisations and civil society organisations.
It was jointly organised by the European Commission and the European Economic and Social Committee. Marianne Thyssen, European Commissioner for Employment, Social Affairs, Skills and Labour Mobility opened the event.
