Five EaSI Technical Assistance workshops during the 16th EMN Annual Conference 2019

The EaSI Technical Assistance for Microfinance programme will host three workshops and two investment readiness trainings, which will take place during the 16th EMN Annual Conference 2019.

The theme of the conference is Connecting for the Future. It will focus on networking, inspiration and development. The aim of the conference will be to encourage participants to connect and exchange best practices in order to prepare for the future. The official conference day will take place in Vienna, Austria on 6 June 2019, at the Erste Campus near the city’s main station.

Pre-conference day on 5 June

A pre-conference investment readiness training titled Investment Readiness Training for starters’ will take place on Wednesday, 5 June at the conference venue. The training is aimed at smaller microcredit providers and greenfield MFIs that are already selected beneficiaries of the EaSI Technical Assistance for microfinance. Participants will learn to navigate the complexity of contractual arrangements and to negotiate successfully with investors, lenders or funders.

Workshops on 7 June

Four additional EaSI Technical Assistance events will take place after the official conference day, on Friday, 7 June.

  • The first workshop – ‘Update on the EaSI Programme for microfinance’ – is aimed at all European microfinance institutions eager to learn more about EU support in the form of  financial instruments, technical assistance and other tools for the sector.
  • A second workshop - ‘Demystifying advocacy at EU level’ will be a share-and-compare workshop where participating institutions can share their experiences about building relationships with policymakers with the aim to identify trends, common challenges and strategies.
  • Another Investment Readiness Training on the EaSI Financial Instruments will help participants learn how to achieve higher social impact, grow their organisations, fund a specific project or obtain access to EU Funding.
  • Finally, a fourth microfinance workshop - The 5 Most Important Digital Marketing Metrics for CEOs, will introduce the participants to multiple new digital touchpoints in the customer journey and the key marketing metrics, which make a real impact on the sustainability and competitiveness of their organisation.

In total, more than 200 microfinance practitioners, policy makers, financial inclusion experts, FinTech representatives and development officials from over 19 countries worldwide are expected to take part in the events of the conference.
