In April 2013, all EU Member States committed to the implementation of the Youth Guarantee. Now four years on, the Youth Guarantee has helped to improve the lives of millions of young Europeans.

However, youth unemployment remains high in many Member States and reinforced efforts are needed, with a particular emphasis on targeting ‘hard-to-reach’ young people and providing quality offers and services.

In this context, the European Commission has organised a Youth Guarantee Learning Forum, which took place on 26-27 October 2017 in Brussels.

The Youth Guarantee Learning Forum has enabled mutual exchange and learning between practitioners by sharing information about different measures delivered in the context of the Youth Guarantee, facilitating networking, and highlighting and building on inspiring practices from across Europe.

In two plenary sessions and eight workshops targeting different topics, participants were able to identify the challenges and lessons learned so far in implementing the Youth Guarantee and the Youth Employment Initiative, with the view to exploring solutions and next steps.

Participants included:

  • project practitioners
  • Youth Guarantee Coordinators
  • ESF Managing Authorities
  • public employment services and other public authorities
  • social partners
  • youth and other civil society organisations
  • international and European organisations

The event was on invitation only.
