The European Commission has organised the first workshop in a series of Mutual Learning workshops on access to social protection for workers and the self-employed.

These workshops aim at supporting Member States and contributing to the implementation of the principles set out in the proposed Council Recommendation on access to social protection for workers and self-employed.

The first workshop was an opportunity to discuss and exchange experiences on how to extend formal coverage to all workers and the self-employed and therefore focused on article 8 on formal coverage of the Recommendation.
