The European Commission recently adopted the Skills Agenda and a set of measures to support youth employment. One of the initiatives presented in the Youth Employment Initiative package is the renewal of the European Alliance of Apprenticeships. The Alliance has already contributed to provide opportunities for 900,000 young people. Building on this, the European Commission has renewed the Alliance as means to sustain apprenticeship offers in Europe. To celebrate this, a 3rd High Level Expert Discussion took place on 15th July. The European Commissioner for Jobs and Social Rights, Mr. Nicolas Schmit, chaired the event and brought together other high level speakers representing key stakeholders engaged in the European Alliance for Apprenticeships.
