CCCI is already represented in the national Apprenticeship Council of Cyprus and contributes to its work. We intend to undertake a more active role through in job placements for the students of the apprenticeship system and promote the system more actively to our member enterprises. This will be achieved by:

  • Promoting the benefits of apprenticeships to member companies (through circulars and newsletters ) using inter alia relevant material from the web pages of the European Alliance for Apprenticeships and encouraging them to increase the number of apprenticeships on offer.
  • Collecting the needs for the placement of apprentices from the operators of the apprenticeship schemes together with the type of apprentices they need to place, e.g. welders, car mechanics, plumbers, electricians, etc.
  •  Sending these needs to the enterprises and collecting their hopefully increased interest to give job placements to the students of the apprenticeship scheme that will come about as a result of our Chamber’s promotion of apprenticeships to member companies.
  • Sending the interests to the operators of the apprenticeship scheme so that matching can be made.
  • Working with national authorities, social partners, VET providers and others to identify ways of strengthening the quality, supply and image of apprenticeships in Cyprus.
