In 2013, Repsol, in cooperation with the Spanish Ministry of Vocational Education, the Autonomous Communities, secondary education institutes, and centers of professional training, has put into place a new apprenticeship training course leading to a diploma in industrial chemical operations.
In the first year of this programme there are already 60 students studying in three training centers with plans to open the programme in two additional training centers also in Spain.
The students must have a minimum of 18 years. The candidates are proposed by the education institutes and the final selection is made by Repsol. In an effort to ensure a high-quality training program, the education authorities worked in cooperation with Repsol to define the education content which has two cycles with a total of 2030 hours. There is 40% on-the-job training and 60% theoretical work in the classroom.
