ACUE is a representative employers federation in the sector of electricity, gas and renewable energy production in Romania. Established in 2012, it has 28 members, including important groups active in the electricity and natural gas sector, with a total number of 24.500 employees. ACUE’s management is a member of ACVT and participates at Cedefop activities since 2018, actively supporting members to develop and improve all forms of apprenticeship programmes for young and adults. For example, Electrica, ENEL Romania and ENGIE Romania developed dual classes in VET schools across the country. CEZ Romania developed an apprenticeship programme, while E.ON Romania implemented several practice partnerships with professional schools in the northern part of the country. All the members have internship programmes and partnerships with Energy Universities. ACUE also promotes, supports and facilitates continuous vocational training programmes via workshops, seminars and working groups.
We pledge to improve the quality of apprenticeships by strengthening the partnership with authorities and social partners to improve the VET legislation. We want to improve school-to-work transition and develop a closer link between the labour market’s needs and the Romanian education system by contributing to improving the curricula in VET schools and facilitating trainings for VET teachers and mentors to include modern technologies in students' learning process. Through our member companies, we aim to increase the number of companies that develop work placements for students and adults. We intend to further promote apprenticeships in Romania as the main tool to foster youth employment and to prepare adults for the future of work through public campaigns aimed at attracting young students to the VET system. Being an EAfA member will help us share good practices with a large group of stakeholders and learn new ways to develop quality apprenticeship programmes.
ACUE intends to launch a proposal to improve the regulatory framework aimed at the Government and all education stakeholders. It intends to organise debates with social partners and authorities in order to find efficient mechanisms to correlate the demand on the labour market with the educational offer. ACUE also wants to support the members in developing the apprenticeship programmes by facilitating partnerships with VET schools, targeting lifelong learning programmes and exploring how to develop apprenticeship at the workplace as a practical way to re/upskilling adults.
Number of places: 336
ACUE wants to be more involved in co-planning activities with schools, VET providers and universities to improve the overall quality of apprenticeships. Updating the curricula, teaching tools and methods are very important as there still is a great need to ensure an effective alignment between youth training and business needs. ACUE supports the VET system by investments in the necessary logistic to secure the students modern conditions for practice and access to modern technologies. We also intend to facilitate specialisation opportunities and access to modern technology for teachers.
We plan to organize seminars and workshops in order to promote apprenticeships among our members and other stakeholders. ACUE plans to give more support to members developing public campaigns in partnership with the Ministry of Education to improve the image of VET career path. ACUE will facilitate a closer dialogue with schools so that they can present the opportunities of apprenticeships to students and their parents. Also, we plan to conclude partnerships for lifelong learning programs to help our members develop more apprenticeship programs for adults at the workplace.
