The European Alliance for Apprenticeships is a multi-stakeholder initiative steered by the European Commission. The originator of the pledge is solely responsible for implementing the actions outlined in the pledge.

The NASUWT represents nearly 300,000 teachers in the UK, in all sectors of education . The NASUWT is a member of ETUCE and part of the European Trade Union Federation within ETUC, the European Trade Union Confederation.
The NASUWT will raise awareness about the European Alliance for Apprenticeships and campaign to work towards more quality, accessible and fair apprenticeships in the UK. The NASUWT has actively supported and participated in the campaign initiated on 5 October 2013 entitled "Unite for Quality Education" for all, which will be part of a global campaign of Education International, the global trade union of educational employees. Through this campaign the NASUWT will raise awareness about the initiative and will disseminate the Joint declaration of the European Alliance for Apprenticeship among its members through our briefings and consultation conferences.
Furthermore, in line with the implementation of the ETUCE Policy paper on maintaining and improving quality education in VET, the NASUWT will continue to promote the following among the VET teachers and trainers via its publications, meetings and events on quality teaching and on VET:

The NASUWT is affiliated to the TUC with six million trade union members. The NASUWT is also a member of ETUCE, ETUC and Education International. The NASUWT also works with Education providers in particular the co operative movement, exam boards and regional/ national authorities.
