Presentation of the member:
StartNet is a project of the Goethe-Institut and Stiftung Mercator for young people’s transition from education to employment. It operates at two levels, through a multi-stakeholder network in Southern Italy and a platform with partners for an exchange of good practices at European level.
Description of the Pledge:
StartNet pledges to contribute to the supply, quality, image and mobility of apprenticeships through its pilot network in Southern Italy, its internal expert dialogue with European partner initiatives as well as its external communication and advocacy work. We are committed to promoting apprenticeships as a first choice for young people’s successful transition from education to employment.
Pledged to increase the supply of apprenticeships

Key activities: StartNet aims to promote the supply of apprenticeships among its European partners and its Italian pilot network. It will do so by regularly sharing updates from the Alliance, good practices from its partners and other expert publications to foster stakeholders’ commitment to supply apprenticeships. Moreover, through its external communication, events both in Italy and at European level, it will highlight the added value of apprenticeships for different target groups such as enterprises, policy-makers and youth.
Timelime activities: Continuously and regularly (min. twice per year) internally and externally

Pledged to improve the quality of apprenticeships

Key activities: StartNet promotes the quality of apprenticeships among its European partners and its Italian pilot network. It will do so by regularly sharing good practices from its partners, tools for practitioners such as guidelines and publications from the Alliance as well as other expert sources to foster the quality of apprenticeships. Moreover, through its external communication it gives visibility to quality apprenticeships schemes that are able to combine both excellence and inclusion.
Timelime activities: Continuously and regularly (min. twice per year) internally and externally

Pledged to enhance the image of apprenticeships

Key activities: StartNet aims to promote the image of apprenticeships among its European partners and its Italian pilot network. It will do so by regularly sharing good practices of its partners testimonies of apprentices and material from the Alliance as well as other expert sources supporting the image of apprenticeships. This work is connected to activities on young people’s career guidance and orientation, highlighting the opportunities related to apprenticeships making them a first choice for young people’s transition to employment.
Timelime activities: Continuously and regularly (min. twice per year) internally and externally

Pledged to contribute to the mobility of apprenticeships

Key activities: StartNet promotes the mobility of apprenticeships among its European partners and its Italian pilot network. It will do so by supporting possible cooperation among European partners to engage into mobility activities e.g. through Erasmus+ projects and its peer-to-peer exchange programme.
Timelime activities: Continuously and ad-hoc (if applicable)
