IBM is already running several apprenticeship programs in different European countries. Goal from this pledge is to improve the quality of education with the aim to educate young people in topics of the future (cognitive, cloud analytic). IBM and the IT market is transforming and needs these skills for the future. Further goal is a seamless integration of apprentices (after the program) into a regular employment. Education during the program should be as relevant as possible and should be credited. IBM is looking for a crediting system and if possible a cross country approach.
IBM will also contribute to the image of Apprenticeship by giving visibility to our Apprentice programmes and co-operating with government and HE institutions on promotion

Initiative will be run on IBM Europe Level. Several internal units and country organisations will be involved. So far plan is to do it without any external partners.
