  1. Increasing supply of apprenticeships by increasing the number of partnerships with companies with whom we are already cooperating and starting new cooperation with companies and CSR platforms in some countries of our network to introduce Work Based Learning underlining apprenticeships. Aim for agreement with at least 20 companies by end of 2017.

Increase synergies between counselling services for employment within our T-VET Centres and companies to advise low skilled trainees and young people suffering from drop-out towards itineraries of professionalizing apprenticeships, to seek for formal qualifications

  1. Improving the quality of apprenticeships by training employees that will mentor our students during the training period in the company and building together with these mentors the training objectives; personalizing training pathways according to the apprentice; start an experimentation within European projects, companies and European organizations active in the field of apprenticeships aimed at improving the quality of apprenticeships.
  2. Improving the image of apprenticeships by the promotion of videos and printed materials, both internally and externally, focusing on the new cooperation with organizations in charge of active employment policies in order to develop information kits to promoted the advantage of apprenticeships in the companies, for example cooperation with Italian Ministry responsible organization for apprenticeships. Promote our founder’s (Don Giovanni Bosco) apprenticeship contract signed in 1851 in Torino, Italy, which had high quality standards for the apprentice.
  3. Enhancing mobility of apprentices within a network. We have already done mobility actions between several EU countries through Erasmus+. We want to increase significantly the number of projects between our members and also with other stakeholders; actions to increase the number using Erasmus+ VET Mobility Charter and studying new European possibilities.

Don Bosco International is a platform that represents the Salesians of Don Bosco (Roman Catholic religious order founded in 1859 in Turin, Italy) and promotes cooperation with European Institutions and international organizations. Salesians of Don Bosco are experts in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (VET), and are currently running over 250 technical and vocational schools.
