Description:

On 10th February 2015 Social partners signed a social agreement for public works in which they confirmed their will to preserve jobs, to develop workers' skills and to encourage apprentices' employment in the public works sector. By this agreement, the public works profession underlines its will to increase the number of apprentices.

The drastic decrease in activity as the consequence of the last crisis impacted greatly on the number of apprentices. The training centres have alerted us about the difficulties encountered by apprentices to find a contract.

The present plan of action is an integral part of the social agreement and aims to kick-start apprenticeship in our sector. It focuses both on young people and public works companies. The main priorities are:

To promote public works trades and apprenticeship

 To improve training quality

To offer a training which is adapted to profession’s need

 To support apprenticeship financing

 To develop cooperation between centres

 To reinforce tutorship

To encourage contacts between professionals and apprentices

To support social actions for apprentices during and at the end of their studies

Our commitment is embedded in the presented action plan. We commit to continue and further develop our activities to fully implement the action plan.
