Unio is a confederation of trade unions, representing members in both the public and the private sectors. Unio is politically independent and an active partner in the Norwegian tripartite negotiations and the social dialogue. Unio focus on ensuring that public services are provided at the highest level of quality. Unio is also a driving force for keeping a larger portion of the population employed and making sure that employment facilitates inclusion and equality, including measures to combat the gender-based labor market. Unio has 12 national affiliates which are organized according to profession.

Unio is a member of ETUC (European Trade Union Confederation).

  • Unio is supporting other European trade unions’ and teacher trade unions’ actions to improve apprenticeship, and we support the objectives of the European Alliance for Apprenticeship.
  • Unio is a partner in The Social Contract between the Norwegian Government and the Social Partners - an important effort for more apprenticeships.
  • Unio has confirmed our participation in the Social Contract and made our own strategy to fulfil the aims of the contract.
