Topic identifier: JTI-CS2-CPW-AIR-01-02
Publication date: 09 July 2014

Types of action: CS2-IA Innovation action
Opening date:
09 July 2014

Topic Description

This topic addresses all the aspects of leading edge slat ice protection system technology, design and certification.

For the N+2 generation, this topic will continue the exploration of de-icing schemes which currently present significant technical challenges starting with the ability to create accurate computer models of their operation. The goal would be to develop completely the processes and tools needed to optimise the design of such systems.

For the N+3 generation entering service in the 2030s, the topic will lay the foundation of radically new approaches to ice protection, offering opportunities to study technology with lower maturity.

Please refer for the full and formal topic description to Annex I of the Clean Sky 2 Work Plan 2014-2015 (see under the tab "Topic Conditions and Documents")
