Sports Innovation

Engineering and Information & Communication Technologies (ICT) are becoming an important support for many activities related to sport science such as medicine, biotechnology and nutrition. What performance-enhancing methods should be allowed in sports? Where should we draw the line between acceptable and unacceptable? This session will address recent and potential advancements in sport science and will promote a debate on key aspects and current controversies related to technological improvements of athletic performance such as doping, as well as the social and economic role of sports in society.
