ECCA 2021 - 5th European Climate Change Adaptation Conference
2021 is the year of climate adaptation. ECCA 2021 comes at the right time, after the first global Climate Adaptation Summit in January 2021, and before the COP 26 in Glasgow in November 2021. It will turn the spotlight on the pressing need to accelerate the transfer of knowledge from R&I to policies and practices, including societal transformation an behavioural change, in order to increase resilience in Europe and beyond, in a context of rising climate risks.
Knowledge Exchange Platform (KEP) event
The Knowledge Exchange Platform (KEP) is a cooperation mechanism with the Committee of the Regions existing since 2015 that allows for a strategic and operational dialogue with European regions and cities on research and innovation. KEP brings together scientists, policy makers and citizens to discuss the major challenges our society is facing and work towards Europe’s recovery and the green and digital transition.
European Development Days (EDD)
Biodiversity loss, climate change and environmental degradation are defining challenges of our generation and require more coordinated and incisive international efforts. The COVID-19 pandemic has shown the interlinkages between human health and an healthy planet. The post COVID recovery should be an opportunity to build back greener and more inclusive societies and economies. In this respect, the European Development Days will provide a decisive moment for analysis and reflection on the road to the CBD COP15 in Kunming in October and the Glasgow COP26 in November 2021.
