Urban practitioners' community

Urban programme

Investing in sustainable urban development

In continuity with last year's OPEN urban DAY, the European Commission, DG Regional and Urban Policy, and the European Committee of the Regions have joined forces with the Brussels Capital Region and local institutions, representatives from other cities and European networks and initiatives to facilitate international exchange on sustainable urban development.

The urban practitioners' community will have the opportunity to attend specific interactive sessions, workshops, projects visits and key events, on the Urban Agenda for the EU, 'urban impact assessment' and the importance of multi-level governance and other urban challenges, especially during 11th,12th and 13th October.

Sessions and venues

Most of the sessions will take place in the Meeting Place, located in the European Committee of the Regions. The political event on the Urban Agenda for Europe will take place on 11th,12th and 13th October in the afternoon at the Charlemagne building.

Search for 'URB' encoded sessions in the programme and register soon, as places are limited!

Project site visits

Guided visits to projects will be organized by the Brussels Capital Region. Participants will be able to register for those also through the online registration tool used for the European Week of Regions and Cities.
