Social Media- EU love without borders

Congratulations to the winning couple of the #EUlovewithoutborders competition Alexandra and Pierre
For the celebration of Interreg 25 years as an EU programme for territorial cooperation, a Valentine's Challenge was launched on 14 February inviting all EU love birds to share their great love story. The success of love beyond borders encouraged some 82 couples to participate, of which 67 were eligible according to the terms of reference. We had a great response – more than 3,000 "likes" for our first Facebook post alone.
The resulting photo album including accompanying texts is available on the Europe in my region Facebook page.
25 couples were shortlisted for interviews.
After hearing many great stories on how the couples met, which obstacles they faced and how they managed to overcome them, the winning couple of the EUlovewithoutborders competition is:

Alexandra and Pierre, a Franco-German couple. They were getting married on 9 May in Germany! They have won a lovely week-end in the Mosel Region. What better way to celebrate 2015's #EuropeDay and 25 years of Interreg - the EU's cross-border programmes.
We wish them all the very best!
Read more here about their love story submitted for the competition:
"Since 9 May 2008, we live our own adventure and strengthen cross-border Franco-German relations! The next big step in our lives between France and Germany will be our wedding in Germany 9 May 2015, Europe Day and shortly after our religious marriage in Scy-Chazelles. - cradle of Europe Robert Schuman and village in the workplace, we have also long been devoted to cross-border relationships - whether in journalism or the INTERREG program Greater Region. We look forward to the rest of this great adventure!"
Thank you to all couples of the #EUlovewithoutborders competition and for their enthusiastic participation and sharing with us their love stories beyond borders !!
