Join us at the ComPEL Impact Evaluation workshop that will take place from 11 – 14 January 2022.
Directorate-General for Regional and Urban Policy and the World Bank Group are collaborating on a project to improve the effectiveness of smart specialisation strategies.
During the project, the World Bank will support selected project teams and public authorities/agencies to design and implement rigorous impact evaluations of their public policy interventions linked to smart specialisation in the areas of entrepreneurship, innovation and competitiveness.
To start with, we are organising an impact evaluation workshop for 10-15 project teams that will take place from 11 – 14 January 2022 in a European capital (TBC). We are looking for teams interested in conducting a rigorous impact evaluation in one of the following policy areas related to smart specialisation:
- Entrepreneurship / Business Start-up
- Innovation / Technology Adoption
- Management Capabilities / Skills development
In the workshop, project teams will be matched with experienced researchers from academia and international organisations to develop a concept presentation for their impact evaluation projects. In addition, the workshop will feature keynote lectures on smart specialisation by international experts, shorts presentations on relevant impact evaluation methods and recent impact evaluations in the S3 policy areas by experienced researches.
We will cover costs during the workshop for up to 4 members of the project teams (including most meals, accommodation, and conference arrangements) and project teams will only have to pay travel to/from the venue.
