Programme description
Main objectives
The Programme aims at improving cohesion policy through exchange of experience, transfer of good practices and joint initiatives among EU 28 regions (+ Norway and Switzerland) on thematic objectives, such as innovation, SMES, low carbon economy and environmental protection.
Funding priorities
The Programme will focus on four main priorities:
- Research, technological development and innovation
- Competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises
- Low carbon economy
- Environment and resource efficiency
Expected impacts
This programme is very specific, since it can only influence the way other Operational Programmes will mobilise their funding in the thematic objectives concerned, i.e.
- Share of growth and jobs programmes influenced by Interreg Europe in the field of innovation: 25%
- Share of growth and jobs programmes influenced by Interreg Europe in the field of SMEs: 33%
- Amount of European Structural and Investment Funds (ESIF) mobilised in the field of low carbon economy, influenced by Interreg Europe: €192 million
