Integrated Regional Operational Programme

Programme description

Main objectives

The main objective of the Operational Programme (OP) is to contribute to the promotion of quality of life and to ensure sustainable provision of public services across the country. This will be beneficial for a balanced and sustainable regional development, as well as economic, territorial and social cohesion of Slovak regions, cities and municipalities.

Funding priorities

The Programme will focus on five main priorities:

  • Safe and environmentally friendly transport in the regions
  • Easier access to effective and quality public services
  • Mobilising creative potential in the regions
  • Improving the quality of life in the regions with an emphasis on the environment
  • Community-Led Local Development

Expected impacts

  • More than 150 km of reconstructed or upgraded roads
  • 25% of individuals receiving social services on community-based level in line with principles of deinstitutionalisation
  • 2.3 million of citizens benefiting from improved health services in 134 newly created integrated health care centres
  • Increase participation of 3-5 year old children in kindergartens to 90% in less developed regions, in order to prepare them for primary education
  • Increase of employment in supported enterprises to 1000 full time equivalents
  • Almost 50% improvement of energy performance of residential buildings
