Programme description

Main objectives

The programme aims to boost economic growth and contribute to achieving the Europe 2020 targets for smart, sustainable and inclusive growth. EU funding is targeted according to the regional specialization strategy (RIS3) and will concentrate in research and development, innovation and ICT services and infrastructure, aiming at connecting the business network with the technological and research institutions. The programme will contribute to improve SME's competitiveness and the energy efficiency. Finally, tourism will be promoted via the systemic and integrated valorisation of regional resources and competencies.

Funding priorities

The programme will focus on 5 priorities:

  • Developing ICT services and infrastructures (€14.4 million – 22.3% of total resources)
  • Reducing greenhouse gas emissions by improving energy efficiency in public buildings and sustainable urban mobility (€14.2 million – 22.1%)
  • Improving the regional system of research, development and innovation (€13.5 million – 21%)
  • Promoting tourism through the restoration and valorisation of cultural heritage (€12.3 million – 19.1%)
  • Improving SME's competitiveness (€7.2 million – 11.2%)

Expected Impacts

  • Investment in over 160 SMEs
  • Facilitate the establishment and growth of innovative SMEs
  • Private investment matching public support to enterprises: almost €20 million
  • Territory covered by broadband infrastructure: 100% (29% in 2013)
  • Number of public buildings with an improved energy efficiency certification: 17
  • Increase in expected number of visits to supported sites of cultural heritage and attractions.
