Programme description

Main objectives

The programme aims to boost economic growth and contribute to achieving the Europe 2020 targets for smart, sustainable and inclusive growth. The strategy focuses primarily on innovation and research in the areas of smart specialization and on the protection of a balanced territorial development capable of reconciling a high-quality of life with the social-economic needs of the territory. Finally, it will contribute to improve the energy efficiency standards and promote the use of renewable energies in public buildings.

Funding priorities

The Programme will focus on four main priorities:

  • Reducing greenhouse gas emissions by reduction of the energy consumption and promotion of sustainable transport systems (€ 39.2 million, 28.8% of total resources)
  • Improving the regional system of R&I by boosting investments and cooperation between its actors (research institutions, technological centres, SMEs) and promoting new markets for innovation (€ 16.3 million, 24%)
  • Digitization of the public administration, reduction of digital divide and strengthening digital inclusion (€ 16.3 million, 24%)
  • Reduction of the hydrological risks for the population (€ 13.1 million, 19.2%)

Expected Impacts

  • Number of firms receiving support: 230
  • Number of firms cooperating with R&D institutions: 60
  • Reducing CO2 emissions by around 139,000 teq
  • Researchers working in improved research infrastructure: 80
