Programme description
Main objectives
The Cooperation programme addresses the most important cross-border challenges which are linked to the implementation of the Europe 2020 strategy in the Bavarian-Czech border region. Strategically, the programme will promote the better integration of research and development capacities on both sides of the border to exploit the full economic potential of the region. At the same time, it will address environmental issues, in particular bio-diversity, and (increasing) challenges linked to climate change. It will also protect and promote cultural heritage. Actions will be complemented by efforts to foster closer co-operation in legal and administrative questions, in order to create a fully integrated border region.
To achieve these strategic objectives, the programme aims to raise the number of cross-border business clusters and research networks, to increase the bio-diversity, to promote the joint development of the cultural heritage, to intensify investment in education and training, and to further improve cross-border governance structures.
