    Following the entry into force of the Cohesion policy legislative package on 1 July, the Commission has now launched a new webpage with the detailed breakdown of the €392 billion Cohesion policy funding for the 2021-2027 programming period.

    EU cohesion policy in 2020, acting against COVID-19


    2020 was one of the most challenging years in the history of the European Union: a relentless pandemic and a severe economic crisis. In this context, EU cohesion policy’s support to healthcare and economic activity was literally vital.

    The Commission has adopted a new report on EU border regions with analysis and recommendations on how to strengthen the resilience of border regions also in the context of the coronavirus pandemic.

    Call for applications for dialogue with CPR partners


    The Commission is calling for applications with a view to selecting the expert group of partners who shall (i) assist the Commission on questions relating to the implementation of support from the funds under the Common Provisions Regulation (COM(2021/1060); (ii) monitor the evolution of policy on partnership and multilevel governance and (iii) bring about an exchange of experience and good practices on partnership and multilevel governance.

    Partners shall be umbrella organisations established at Union level that represent:

    • regional, local, urban and other public authorities;
    • economic and social partners;
    • relevant bodies representing civil society, such as environmental partners, non-governmental organisatio

    A focus on performance is key in the next generation of regional policy programmes


    Today the Commission published a staff working document describing the approach to performance, monitoring and evaluation of programmes funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), the Cohesion Fund (CF) and the Just Transition Fund (JTF) for the period 2021-2027.

    EU Cohesion policy: €118 million for French Guiana and Poland


    The Commission has approved an investment of €118 million from the structural funds for two major projects for the French overseas department of Guyana and Poland.

    Long-term vision for rural areas: for stronger, connected, resilient, prosperous EU rural areas


    The European Commission has today put forward a long-term vision for the EU's rural areas, identifying the challenges and concerns that they are facing, as well as highlighting some of the most promising opportunities that are available to these regions. Based on foresight and wide consultations with citizens and other actors in rural areas, today's Vision proposes a Rural Pact and a Rural Action Plan, which aim to make our rural areas stronger, connected, resilient and prosperous.
