Main Objectives
The objective of this multi-fund ERDF/ESF Operational Programme (OP) is to increase the competitiveness of the region, ensuring in parallel the improvement of the living conditions of its inhabitants.
Funding Priorities
The programme provides for support on all 10 thematic objectives, but it will concentrate its resources mainly on support to research and innovation, support to SMEs, shift to a low-carbon economy, energy efficiency and transport infrastructure. The European Social Fund will focus mostly on employment, workers' mobility, and adaptability of enterprises to change.
Expected Impact
- Increase enterprises' R&D expenditure
- Increase SME innovation
- Decrease annual primary energy consumption of public buildings
- Build 230 new environmentally friendly rolling stock for urban public transport
- Establish 62 new multi-modal urban centres (such as Park & Ride or Bike & Ride)
- Annual decrease of green-house gas emissions
- 96,426 [t/year] new waste recycling capacity
- 267 km of new sewage network pipelines
- 90 km of modernized railways and 100 km of tramway lines
- Support almost 50,000 unemployed people in searching for a job or upgrading their skills
- Create around 4,500 new places in crèches
