The conference launched the dialogue on a new vision for Public-Private Partnerships with the industry, post 2020. Approximately 350 participants from industry, research organisations, Member States, the European Parliament, the European Commission, trade unions, civil society and other stakeholders were engaged in the discussions.
The main messages of the conference included
- the need to digitise European industries,
- to focus on more systemic innovations and
- to develop a strong rationale for partnerships, with a better governance system and a wider involvement of stakeholders, workers and citizens.
All stakeholders were invited to cooperate in identifying the areas where Europe can make a difference and partnerships can best contribute. An independent rapporteur, Patries Boekholt, drafted the report of the conference.
