The European Investment Bank (EIB) is lending €12 million to Estonian manufacturer Elcogen for bringing its highly-efficient fuel cell technology to the mass market. The loan is provided under InnovFin Energy Demonstration Projects, a joint initiative of the EIB Group and the European Commission, which supports research and innovation to transform the energy systems in Europe.
The EIT Information Day was held for the 2018 Call for Proposals for two new Innovation Communities, EIT Urban Mobility and EIT Manufacturing.
The EIT Information Day gave innovators interested in forming one of these Innovation Communities an unrivalled opportunity to hear what’s needed and what’s expected.

The European Commission has launched the fifth of six European Innovation Council (EIC) Horizon Prizes, on Innovative batteries for eVehicles, worth €10 million. The EIC Horizon Prizes are part of the first phase of the EIC under Horizon 2020, the EU's Research and Innovation Framework Programme.
The European Institute of Innovation & Technology (EIT) has launched a competition for new innovation communities in the areas of urban mobility (EIT Urban Mobility) and added value manufacturing (EIT Manufacturing).
The winners will join Europe’s largest innovation community to bring solutions to European citizens.
Today, the EIT has published the Framework of Guidance for the EIT’s 2018 Call for Proposals.
To further enhance its impact and to incentivise the innovations needed to meet societal challenges, we’re continuing to expand our activities in 2018 by launching a call for two new Knowledge and Innovation Communities:
