Proposals should include one or more of the following areas: quantum communication; quantum simulation; quantum computation; quantum information sciences; quantum metrology sensing and imaging; novel ideas and applications in quantum science and technologies. Graphene Flagship researchers from Trinity College Dublin in collaboration with the National Graphene Institute (NGI) at the University of Manchester, have used graphene to make the novelty children’s material Silly Putty® (polysilicone) conduct electricity. Using this conductive polymer they found that they were able to create extremely sensitive sensors. Read more

The first call for research projects is open since December 1, 2016. There are 21 funding organisations from 18 countries involved in this call. The total available budget is approx. € 36 mio. Submission deadline: March 2, 2017, 13:00 (CET). The application process consists of two separate and consecutive steps: Pre-proposal and full proposal. Read more
