Launch of Horizon 2020 Teaming Centre of Excellence in Riga

On 20 February 2017, the CAMART² Horizon 2020 project was launched in Riga, Latvia. The Teaming Phase 2 project was awarded €15m from the Spreading Excellence and Widening Participation in Horizon 2020 and the Latvian government committed to co-finance another €16m.

The Centre of Excellence on Advanced Materials Research & Technology Transfer is coordinated by the University of Latvia and will be supported by its Swedish advanced partners Acreo Swedish ICT and KTH Royal Institute of Technology.

CAMART² was inaugurated in the presence of Mr. Robert-Jan Smits, Director General in DG Research & Innovation, Mr. Kārlis Šadurskis, Minister of Education and Science, Mr. Raimonds Aleksejenko, Ministry of Economics, Deputy State Secretary,Indriķis Muižnieks, Rector, University of Latvia and Mr. Henrik Landerholm, Swedish Ambassador to Latvia.
