Future and Emerging Technologies (FET) - Work Programme 2018-2020 preparation

In February 2016 an open consultation was organised about the thematic orientations of the FET Proactive and FET Flagships schemes, as well as on Mathematics for Excellence. This consultation closed on 30 April 2016.

For future FET Proactive initiatives, we received 59 contributions (and some 300 comments). You can find our analysis of all these contributions online.

For new FET Flagships, we received 24 contributions. Your comments on these contributions  are still welcome.

A consultation on Mathematics for Excellence in Science in Horizon 2020 obtained 181 contributions from a variety of mathematical fields. Check out the report (PDF) presenting the results of this consultation.

Read the blogpost of Thomas Skordas, Acting Director of the renamed "Digital Excellence & Science infrastructure" Directorate, discussing the status of above consultations and the next steps to take: "Shaping FET in the last 3 years of Horizon 2020".

Other inputs will be gathered, in particular from the FET Advisory Group, and from consultation with high level experts, representatives from national research funders, and industry/societal representatives.

In the case of High Performance Computing, input from the European Technology Platform for High Performance Computing (ETP4HPC) will be used, and in particular its Strategic Research Agenda 2017 (SRA). In order to prepare the next full version of the SRA the ETP4HPC was asking for feedback on its Strategic Research Agenda 2015 on its Strategic Research Agenda 2015 (until end of June 2016).

Work programme 2018-2020 is now published.
