School Education
Overview
Erasmus+ supports training activities abroad for professionals involved in pre-primary, primary and secondary school education.
These opportunities can consist of structured courses or other events or job shadowing or observation periods at schools or other relevant organisations.
Examples of such organisations include higher education institutions, public bodies, research institutes and organisations providing courses or training.
These opportunities are available between organisations based in Erasmus+ Programme countries.
Duration
A training activity must last a minimum of 2 days and cannot last more than 2 months. This excludes travelling time.
Conditions
For you to take part in professional development abroad with Erasmus+, your school must apply to participate in a school education mobility project.
The school mobility project be framed within the European Development Plan of the sending organisation, and must respond to clearly identified staff development needs. It must ensure that what you learn is both properly recognised and shared throughout your institution.
Financial support
EU grants are paid to the coordinating organisation (your school or a consortium coordinator) and are designed to cover your costs for travel and subsistence during your time abroad and courses fees if necessary, as well as offering organisational support to the participating organisations.
How to apply
You cannot apply directly for a grant as an individual. Applications must be made by schools (or consortium coordinators on behalf of schools) who in turn select candidates for training activities abroad from their staff.
The selection of staff to teach abroad should be fair, transparent and well documented.
