30 years of Jean Monnet Activities: EU Studies in the digital age

The conference will focus on the challenges of digitalisation within education and how EU studies are affected by it.

The Closing Conference of the 30th anniversary of the Jean Monnet Activities will follow the Kick-off meeting organised by the Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA) for coordinators of newly selected Jean Monnet beneficiaries.

The topic of the conference – “EU studies in the digital age" has been selected as one of the main priorities of the new Commission is to support the development of digital competences through education.

The discussions will focus on the challenges of digitalisation within education:

  • Teaching Europe in the digital age,
  • Jean Monnet projects on digital research,
  • The European Commission’s Digital Education Action Plan and more in general
  • The socio-economic and legal implications of digitalisation.

The organiser of this event is the Directorate General for Education, Youth, Sport and Culture.

Attendance to this event is by invitation only. Participants of the conference will be mostly the beneficiaries of the Jean Monnet activities who attend the kick-off meeting organised by EACEA on 18 November 2019 in Brussels. In addition, the Commission will invite members of the Jean Monnet Community, representatives of the EU institutions and Member States, journalists and active stakeholders.
