British artist Dua Lipa wins Public Choice Award at the European Border Breakers Awards 2017

The London-based singer-songwriter took the award after winning an online poll open to music lovers everywhere. Duo Lipa was one of 10 artists to pick up European Border Breakers Awards in 2017. The awards recognise success of new acts outside their own country.
The winners were celebrated in an award ceremony in Groningen, the Netherlands on 11 January. The winners for 2017 were:
- Alan Walker, Norway
- Jaakko Eino Kalevi, Finland
- Namika, Germany
- Hinds, Spain
- Filous, Austria
- Jain, France
- Dua Lipa, United Kingdom
- Natalie La Rose, the Netherlands
- Walking on Cars, Ireland
- Era Istrefi, Albania
The awards are made on the basis of airplay, sales and live performances in Europe using data from the European Border Breakers Charts.
In the upcoming year, the awards ceremony will be broadcast on several European public TV channels.
