Launching the Voice of Culture ‒ Structured Dialogue between the European Commission and the cultural sector
- 4 years 2 weeks ago
The Voice of Culture is a new framework for exchanges between European civil society stakeholders and the European Commission with regard to culture.
The dialogue will make sure the voice of cultural professionals is heard at the European level.
In 2015, two themes will be discussed: ‘Audience development via digital means’ and ‘Participatory governance of cultural heritage’.
These topics have been selected with the priorities of the Work Plan for Culture 2015-2018 in mind.
The results of the discussions will inform culture policy work under way at the European Commission.
It will also influence policy at the national level - experts from EU Members States will participate in the framework of the Open Method of Coordination in the field of culture.
About 40 civil society stakeholders from across member states will meet to discuss each topic in a Brainstorming Session.
The participants will be selected through a call for applications that will aim to represent a diverse range of cultural sectors and interests, and acheive a broad geographical spread.
Calls for applications are available here, for both the Audience Development via Digital Means Brainstorming Session and for the Participatory Governance of Cultural Heritage Brainstorming Session.
If you want your voice to be heard for Europe's cultural sector, apply before 25 March 2015.
