The finalists of the Young Talent Architecture Award (YTAA), organised by the Fundació Mies van der Rohe with the support of Creative Europe, announced at the opening of the YTAA exhibition in Venice.

The Young Talent Architecture Award (YTAA) brings together the best graduation projects from European architecture, urban planning and landscape schools. It aims to support the talent and the entrance into the professional world of recently graduated Architects, Urban Planners and Landscape Architects, who will be responsible for transforming our environment in the future.

The jury evaluated the quality of the 334 graduation projects. These were submitted by 451 students from 118 schools in 99 cities across Europe, as well as from China and Korea, the guest countries of this second edition.

The 12 finalists, who will compete for the 4 awards, will be announced at the opening of the YTAA 2018 exhibition on 24 May 2018 from 4pm at the European Cultural Centre - Palazzo Mora. In addition the jury has made a shortlist of 28 other outstanding, urban and landscape graduation projects.

The 4 winners will be revealed on June 28 and the Awards ceremony will take place on 20 September under the motto "Europe’s youngest architecture talent". The event will include a debate during which the theme of Venice Biennale, "Freespace", the main topics of the "European Year of Cultural Heritage" and the YTAA works will be discussed by the YTAA winners, the jury members, the Future Architecture platform participants and other guests.

Both the exhibition and ceremony are collateral events of the 16th International Architecture Exhibition of the Venice Biennale. The exhibition is running until 25 November 2018. For more information  please visit the YTAA website and the Venice Biennale website.
