The European Festivals Association (EFA) has called on European festivals to apply for the EFFE Label for 2019-2020. The label highlights festivals’ exceptional engagement in the arts, community involvement and international openness.
The EFA, in close partnership with its national partners (the EFFE Hubs) and the European Commission, connects European art festivals to the public via the FestivalFinder.eu website. FestivalFinder.eu provides a forum for audiences to celebrate music, theatre, streets arts, dance, literature and much more in in 45 countries. It allows international audiences, festival lovers, festival planners, artists, travellers, academics, journalists, bloggers, policy makers and city developers to share Europe’s incredibly diverse cultural space. The website gives the festivals' communities in participating countries a means to collaborate, and is directly supported by the European Commission.
In addition, a distinguished, international Jury will select the most innovative festivals from highlighted festivals, allowing the EFFE to further celebrate extraordinary artistic events. The 2019 award ceremony will take place at the Brussels Centre for Fine Arts.
The EFFE Label and Award winners benefit from the peer recognition for their work and values, increased visibility, new networking opportunities and closer collaboration with members of the artistic community.
The European Festivals Association’s mission is to support excellence in art by putting the spotlight on the most inspiring festivals across Europe and the world. The organisation acts as Europe’s most important platform for discovering premier events in art. By promoting artistic creation, production and participation, the EFA and its members seek to ensure the human right of access to culture continues to be available for everyone.
