With the one-year Arctic Nature Guide-education in Spitsbergen, we guarantee you a year of adventures. Followed by a working life of outdoors, where you meet nature every day, in every way. What's there not to love? Safe Guiding in the Arctic, Value-based Guiding and Teaching Arctic Nature and Arctic safety and field leadership are courses taught throughout the whole of the academic year. They are mainly practically oriented, but also includes a theoretical approach. Safe Guiding in the Arctic and Value-based Guiding and Teaching Arctic Nature includes field trips of longer and shorter durations in the varied Arctic nature throughout the year. Arctic safety and field leadership comprises concentrated courses in arctic safety as Polarbear safety, Arctic First aid, sea ice navigation, navigation and communication, using a Zodiac and a snow scooter.   3. Bachelor in 3D art, Animation and VFX

    This bachelor degree will lead to creative and practical skills within 3D­-art, animation and visual effects (VFX) for various types of production. For example, film, TV, VR­experiences, art content for games or visualizations, digital scenography for modern theatre, music festivals, concerts, events for business, and art projects. Addressing the needs for a variety of productions will strengthen possibilities and broaden the job market for candidates. Common for all areas of production is being able to develop aesthetic visuals, through foundations in storytelling and artistic expression. The bachelor is offered at the university`s campus in Steinkjer, which has modern computer labs with updated industry standard software. There is also a renderfarm, group production suites, editing suites, and a film studio complete with a 120 m2 green screen stage. The campus offers traditional art supplies such as easels and animation tables. Students also have access to professional film supplies, camera and gear, still cameras and optics, as well as powerful projectors for digital scenography.     Biology is the knowledge of all living organisms, from the tiniest molecules constituting the building blocks of cells, to entire ecosystems. Our future and life quality depend on this knowledge for sustainable utilization and conservation of living resources. Why are some individuals more sexually attractive than others? What mechanisms make living organisms resist bacteria, viruses and parasites? How are seabirds influenced by uncontrolled oil spills? These are some of the questions that biology seeks to answer. In the study programme you will be explained how global climate variations will influence nature, why dinosaurs never really got extinct and why some individuals more sexually attractive than others. You will achieve knowledge about physiology, genomics, scientific methods, biodiversity, chemical mechanisms, as well as ecological and evolutionary processes. About the programme: The teaching language is English. This study programme provides basic knowledge in biological topics including ecology, evolution, biodiversity, genetics as well as basic chemistry, mathematics and statistics.
