Qualification Information

Students will be able to:

(general competences)

  • solve problems and think critically,
  • apply systemic concepts in understanding and defining problems,
  • apply traditional and new concepts and knowledge,
  • understand that a system is composed of people, processes and appropriately used information,
  • acquire solid ethical principles and skills for effective interpersonal communication,
  • work in a team,
  • lead business processes and projects,

(subject-specific competences)

  • lead research and development and operational work in large, medium and small companies,
  • generate, develop, construct and introduce modern managerial solutions from the fundamental, IT and managerial aspects,
  • lead projects to construct and develop business, organisational and computer supported IT systems,
  • successfully and effectively anticipate, plan, organise, supervise and manage the operation of a business system or field (process, subsystem) for which they are responsible,
  • successfully use modern information technology in management,
  • demonstrate a command of ecological issues and environmental protection,
  • responsibly seek and evaluate the strategic development possibilities of business systems,
  • manage independent entrepreneurial plans and programmes in large, medium and small companies.

Third-cycle doctoral study programmes (SQF level 10)

Examination performance is graded as follows: 10 (excellent); 9 (very good: above-average knowledge but with some mistakes); 8 (very good: solid results); 7 (good); 6 (adequate: knowledge satisfies minimum criteria); 5–1 (inadequate). In order to pass an examination, a candidate must achieve a grade between adequate (6) and excellent (10).

  • A completed first-cycle study programme in a relevant professional field: social sciences, education and teacher training, humanities, social, business, administrative and legal studies, natural science, mathematics and computer science, technology, production technology and construction, health and social care, services; or
  • completed first-cycle programme in another field not covered by the previous indent, if prior to enrolment the candidate has completed course units essential for further studies totalling 14 credits; or
  • completed study programme to obtain a Professional Bachelor Degree qualification adopted before 11 June 2004 in a relevant professional field: social sciences, education and teacher training, humanities, social, business, administrative and legal studies, natural science, mathematics and computer science, technology, production technology and construction, health and social care, services; or
  • completed study programme to obtain a Professional Bachelor Degree qualification adopted before 11 June 2004 in another field not covered by the previous indent, if prior to enrolment the candidate has completed course units essential for further studies totalling 14 credits.
