  2. BSc in Mechatronics Engineering

    The programme leading to a BSc degree in Mechatronics Engineering is 180 ECTS credits. Students take 84 ECTS credits in fundamental courses that are the same for all three-year BSc engineering programmes, 66 ECTS credits in courses that are specific to their chosen discipline (Mechatronics Engineering) and 30 ECTS credits in elective courses. The main aim of the programme is to prepare students for studies in engineering at the MSc level. Mechatronics is a multidiciplinary field that combines knowledge and skills from mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and computer science. The main focus is on the design and implementation of engineering cybernetic equipment such as robots, production systems and consumer electronics. The programme in mechatronics engineering equips students to deal with the range of problems and challenges within the field.   3. Diploma in Mechanical Technology

    The programme leading to a Diploma in Mechanical Technology is 90 ECTS credits, taught through distance learning. The requirements for the Diploma in Mechanical Technology reflect the requirements for the professional title of Certified Technician (Icelandic: iðnfræðingur), as accredited by the Icelandic Ministry of Industries. The programme is practically orientated, rooted in the machine, metal and energy industry. Emphasis is placed on practical project work and the application of computer design tools. Most of the teachers have extensive industrial experience. In the final semester, students complete a final project of 12 ECTS dealing with technical solutions in development, design and planning, wherein they demonstrate the knowledge and professional competence they have gained.     Traditional study at the School of Law is a three year (six semesters) BA Programme. The total credits are 180 ECTS. Instruction in the basic study programme covers all the core subjects of law. In the spring semesters of the first and second year, students work on problem based projects under the direction of a supervisor. These projects demand independent work and a thorough grasp of the study content. In the spring semester of the third year, students are given the option of increasing their specialisation with elective courses or writing a BA thesis. On completion of BA studies in law, students shall possess knowledge, skills and qualifications in line with the established learning outcome for BA studies.     The Bachelor of Science at Reykjavik University is a three-year program (six semesters) of 180 ECTS credits in total. Students take five courses (30 ECTS units) in each semester with the exception of the sixth semester, to which the thesis is the equivalent of two courses (12 ECTS).
