The European Qualifications Framework (EQF) is a translation tool that helps communication and comparison between qualifications systems in Europe. Its eight common European reference levels are described in terms of learning outcomes: knowledge, skills and competences. This allows any national qualifications systems, national qualifications frameworks (NQFs) and qualifications in Europe to relate to the EQF levels. Learners, graduates, providers and employers can use these levels to understand and compare qualifications awarded in different countries and by different education and training systems.

  2. Accounting and Auditing, M.Acc.

    The M.Acc programme (Master of Accounting and Auditing) assumes that, already at the commencement of their studies, students will manifest independent work procedures, plan their own work and comply with the timing requirements laid down in the programme. Prerequisites comprise a first class average grade from a basic university programme in business studies with special emphasis on accounting. In the event that this path of study had a different area of emphasis, the student in question will have to attend a preparatory course. New recruits must have completed approximately nine BS courses, with a first class average grade, in order to be able to embark on the Master’s  programme. Objectives from the European Union, on which the programme is based, specify the knowledge required of a chartered accountant; consequently there is little or no flexibility in the choice of courses.The learning outcomes reflect the information outlined above and define the knowledge, skills and competence students gain through their course of study and are expected to have mastered upon its completion. Knowledge outcomes define the academic knowledge attained by the students during their studies, and skills outline the standards used to assess the students’ proficiency in  applying their knowledge.     Type of knowledge The student possesses comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the scientific background of the subjects of food science. The knowledge is based on the latest developments in the field. The student has acquired knowledge by attending courses and carrying out practical exercises and small projects in the field of food science. Knowledge ability and skills On completion of the bachelor degree the student should have fulfilled the following criteria: 1. Knowledge and understanding1.1. The student knows and understands the basic principles of mathematics, physics, chemistry, microbiology, nutrition, engineering, processing and quality assurance that are of relevance to food science.1.2.     Theology and Religious Studies: 180 credit doctorate programme The programme is a three year long research programme at the Faculty of Theology, University of Iceland. Admission requirements are a MA degree or a mag. theol. degree (Provisionally: or a cand. theol. degree) On completion of a Doctorate degree, the following criteria shall be fulfilled:   Knowledge and understanding Students possess extensive and in-depth understanding of main theories, principles, concepts and of the latest findings available within the field of Theology.
