The European Qualifications Framework (EQF) is a translation tool that helps communication and comparison between qualifications systems in Europe. Its eight common European reference levels are described in terms of learning outcomes: knowledge, skills and competences. This allows any national qualifications systems, national qualifications frameworks (NQFs) and qualifications in Europe to relate to the EQF levels. Learners, graduates, providers and employers can use these levels to understand and compare qualifications awarded in different countries and by different education and training systems.

    - to obtain contemporary knowledge and skills in any of sub-branches of biology: plant physiology, biochemistry, biotechnology, botany, human and animal physiology, ecology, genetics, hydrobiology, microbiology, molecular biology, cell biology, zoology and master the understanding of general development tendencies of the biological science; - to obtain basic knowledge of innovative activities in biology; - under the guidance of the academic staff to carry out scientific research and present the result in the Master's thesis.     Aim of the programme: - is to prepare high level specialists in the field of nature recreation in compliance with its essential effect on local and national economics of Latvia, Lithuania and other European countries.   In frames of the programme the skills and abilities of scientific research work in the field of recreation have been developed, as well as deep knowledge in courses connected with biology and other related to it sub-branches.
