The European Qualifications Framework (EQF) is a translation tool that helps communication and comparison between qualifications systems in Europe. Its eight common European reference levels are described in terms of learning outcomes: knowledge, skills and competences. This allows any national qualifications systems, national qualifications frameworks (NQFs) and qualifications in Europe to relate to the EQF levels. Learners, graduates, providers and employers can use these levels to understand and compare qualifications awarded in different countries and by different education and training systems.

    - to complete mandatory and optional legal courses of the studies programme, including professional practice in a court and an institution of public administration, to acquire legal research skills, to write and defend a bachelor’s thesis; as a result a broad spectrum of theorethical and practical knowledge in all branches of law (civil law, state law, criminal law, international and European law, legal theory and legal history) must be acquired.     Aim of the programme of study is to prepare highly qualified professionals in law with the theoretical and practical skills and ability to work independently in the sector of justice. Graduate has acquired knowledge concerning the Latvian legal system, institutional structure of the law enforcement authorities and enforcement practice, at the same time comparing it with the other EU countries.
