Scientific-Humanistic Courses of Visual Arts

Course Information

The Scientific-Humanistic Courses (CCH) are one of the training offers of secondary education and are intended primarily for students wishing to continue their studies in Higher Education (University or Polytechnic), have a duration of 3 academic years corresponding to the 10th, 11 and 12 years of schooling.
There are four courses:

  • Sciences and technologies;
  • Socioeconomic Science;
  • Languages and humanities;
  • Visual arts.

These courses have a general training component and a specific training component.
The general training component is common to all and in articulation with other curricular components, it aims to develop a wider general knowledge, integrating a humanistic, social, artistic, scientific and technological dimension, and includes the following disciplines: Portuguese, Foreign Language I, II or III, Philosophy and Physical Education.

The study plans also include a specific training component intended to provide a solid scientific preparation in the field of study of each course.

The Visual Arts course allows you access to a set of knowledges, capable of contributing to the development of capacities of representation, graphic and plastic expression, visual communication and analysis and understanding of works of art in their historical context and cultural.
