The European Qualifications Framework (EQF) is a translation tool that helps communication and comparison between qualifications systems in Europe. Its eight common European reference levels are described in terms of learning outcomes: knowledge, skills and competences. This allows any national qualifications systems, national qualifications frameworks (NQFs) and qualifications in Europe to relate to the EQF levels. Learners, graduates, providers and employers can use these levels to understand and compare qualifications awarded in different countries and by different education and training systems.

  2. Forensic Medicine Expert (RSU)

    Professional continuing education (residency) aims at ensuring the acquisition of theoretical knowledge and practical skills for certification in the speciality in compliance with the laws and regulations of the Republic of Latvia. The planned outcomes are defined according to Cycle Descriptors in Latvian NQF, i.e., relevant to the 7th level of EQF. Knowledge and skills: Upon successful completion of the programme; - graduates will be able to demonstrate deep and wide knowledge and comprehension of medical theory and knowledge in particular medical speciality meeting the requirements of the particular speciality and being able to apply creative thinking during clinical placement and to a certain extent research and demonstrate interdisciplinary competence.     To study basics of life sciences necessary for mastering the content of pharmacy studies; - to acquire adequate knowledge of medicines and substances used in pharmaceutical industry, regulatory requirements associated with the practice of pharmacy and pharmaceutical research; - to master skills of applying theoretical knowledge and research methods to provide pharmaceutical care; - to work out and defend the Bachelor thesis for the total amount of 10 credit points.     Adequate knowledge of the drugs and substances used in the pharmacy; - adequate knowledge about pharmaceutical technology and drug quality control; - adequate knowledge about drug action and metabolism, pharmacotherapy; - ability to carry out research projects, and to defend master thesis; - adequate practical and theoretical knowledge obtained by passing 6 month practice at pharmaceutical enterprises, and knowledge about pharmacy legislation, regulatory documents; - adequate specialization compiled from the obligatory elective courses in the Master degree program, research done during working out master thesis and practice.     Programme requirements are to master the knowledge and competence necessary for the teacher in pedagogy, education science, courses in the field of science of the chosen qualification, incl. courses in methods of teaching; - to master and consolidate the practical skills and competences of the teacher of the chosen qualification in the pedagogical practice at school (26 credit points); - to acquire the research skills by working out and defending the Diploma paper (10 credit points) which is a practice-oriented research work containing theoretical and practical parts including the research methodology, research results and their analysis and conclusions.
